Homework: Reading at home is important. Students should have an AR book on their level to read each night.  Find a time that you and your child can read together. Modeling is important for your child to develop a love for reading. Talk about what you are reading!!    Your child may bring classwork home if  work is not completed in class. Classwork is checked in class by teacher and student.

Classwork: Student work is completed during classtime. Students have a folder with daily work, flashbacks, notes, and other important activities.  They also have three workbooks (Practice, Spelling, and Grammar) and write daily in  their journals.

Reading Assessments: Students are given assessments each week to check for comprehension as well as locating information. Most selection tests are open book.  Weekly and Unit Tests are fresh reads and are based on reading and locating information.   These tests are used to track student progress and identify areas of concern.

Grades: Students are graded on flashbacks, vocabulary, grammar, and spelling workbook pages,
